Nothing Expands Nothing OS 4.0 Rollout to CMF Phone 1, Phone 2 Pro, and Phone (3a) Lite

Nothing has begun expanding the public rollout of Nothing OS 4.0, its latest software update built on Android 16, to more smartphones. The update is now reaching CMF Phone 1, CMF Phone 2 Pro, and the Nothing Phone (3a) Lite, after first arriving as a stable release for the Nothing Phone (3) in November.

The company announced the expanded rollout in an official update shared on the Nothing Community forum. According to Nothing, OS 4.0 is designed to fine-tune the overall user experience, with a focus on visual consistency, improved customization, and smoother interactions, rather than introducing major new features.

What’s new in Nothing OS 4.0

Nothing OS 4.0 brings several refinements aimed at improving everyday usability. Key changes include a more consistent visual design across system elements, expanded customization options for the user interface and home screen, and smoother animations for daily interactions. The update also includes Android 16’s core enhancements, offering better performance, improved security, and overall system stability.

Rollout schedule

The Nothing OS 4.0 update is being released in phases:

• CMF Phone 1: Public rollout has already begun and will expand gradually
• CMF Phone 2 Pro: Update is expected to arrive in the coming weeks
• Nothing Phone (3a) Lite: Rollout is scheduled for early January

The company notes that update availability may vary depending on the region and rollout batch.
